La Doble Nelson is a Berlin-based cumbia band with members from Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, the Netherlands, and Germany. Our repertoire draws on traditional Colombian rhythms, Peruvian chicha, and Argentine cumbia villera, reflecting the vibrant diversity of cumbia itself. Cumbia, for us, is more than a musical genre; it’s a cultural phenomenon deeply rooted in experiences that connect us to a broader world. It’s a celebration of community and the joyful expression of dance and movement, where everyone gathers not just to witness a show but to be part of a collective celebration.
Formed in Berlin, our project offers a unique opportunity to share cumbia with audiences unfamiliar with it, bridging cultures and expanding the reach of this powerful musical tradition.
